SAVE THE DATE – SAT AUG 29 – HIKE TO MOUNT KOBAU

The drive to the parking lot on Mount Kobau takes about 40 minutes, the last 20 kms once we turn off of highway 97 is over a fairly rough gravel road.
This day’s hike will first take us to the lookout over the Similkameen Valley returning to the parking lot a walk of 4.5 kms.
Part 2 of the hike will take us to the summit of Mt Kobau (elevation 1,873 meters) overlooking the Okanagan Valley.
The round trip for this portion is 2 kms.
Both segments of the hike contain some steep sections on well-defined gravely paths, walking poles and hiking boots (no sandals) are recommended.
This is considered a Moderately Difficult hike.
Hikers should bring adequate water, a lunch, insect repellent, camera, etc.
We should be returning to Osoyoos no later than 2 PM.
Social distancing and other safety measures for COVID-a9 will be in place.
